Overview

HKL-323 Automatic Reid Vapor Pressure Bath conforms to ASTM D323 Standard Test Method for Vapor Pressure of Petroleum Products (Reid Method). The liquid chamber of the vapor pressure apparatus is filled with the chilled sample and connected to the vapor chamber that has been heated to 37.8 °C (100°F) in a bath. The assembled apparatus is immersed in a bath at 37.8°C (100°F) until a constant pressure is observed. The reading, suitably corrected, is reported as the Reid vapor pressure.

Features

  1. The instrument uses a temperature controller imported from Japan that is easy to operate and has a clear display for reading. Besides one of the most precise temperature control accuracy being ±0.1℃, also has features for safety and automation such as an over-temperature alarm and self-adjusting PID parameter.

  2. The Reid test bomb moves on its own by turning and moving side to side. Turning once every 20 seconds and then going back at the same speed. This pattern continuously repeats for automated oscillation.

  3. This instrument has a horizontal layout. A digital pressure gauge indicates the test pressure.

  4. Both the water bath tank and the vapor pressure test bomb are fabricated using stainless steel which provides a high degree of resistance to rust.

  5. This electrical water bath for heating includes a circulation motor to make sure the temperature is the same, with a variation inside the bath of less than 0.1℃.

  6. The vapor pressure test bomb is composed of two chambers of equal inner diameter in a cylindrical body—the air chamber and the gasoline chamber. The volume ratio of the two chambers is from 3.95 to 4.05, which makes sure that the sample data are accurate.
