Overview

HKL-1160 Distillation Apparatus at Reduced Pressure conforms to the ASTM D1160 Standard Test Method for Distillation of Petroleum Products at Reduced Pressure. The sample is distilled at an accurately controlled pressure between 0.13 kPa and 6.7 kPa (1 mm and 50 mm Hg) under conditions that are designed to provide approximately one theoretical plate fractionation. Data are obtained from which the initial boiling point, the final boiling point, and a distillation curve relating volume percent distilled and atmospheric equivalent boiling point temperature can be prepared.

Features

  1. This instrument is equipped with an LCD display, is controlled and adjusted via a microcomputer, and has a built-in printer interface for printing sample data. Its features include ease of operation, accurate data, and an intuitive interface.

  2. The use of a single-compressor refrigeration system in this machine helps in directly condensing the vapor. The vacuum system is linked directly to the condenser tubes, whereas the refrigeration tubes employ coil technology for quick cooling of the gas pipe, which is controlled by the system, thus the safety performance of the device is improved.

  3. Condensation and flow guidance rely on a microcontroller to allow a rather accurate temperature of ±0.2°C. Condensed water coming from the condenser tube is treated through multiple stages before it is sent back to the heating bath. This way the heat absorbed during measurement is released and the desired temperature for sample processing is sustained.

  6. The instrument is equipped with a safety shield made of 6mm-thick acrylic glass, featuring double doors for transparent observation and protective purposes. During tests, this safety shield must be closed to prevent accidents.
