This test method covers the determination of the freezing point of an aqueous engine coolant solution in the laboratory. The freezing point of an engine coolant indicates the coolant freeze protection.
Features
This equipment uses a cascade immersion refrigeration method combined with a two-compressor system which doesn’t require a circulating cooling water. Condenser cooling is the way of heat dissipation that enables instant refrigeration when the power is on.
The device features a digital temperature controller for accurate regulation. To comply with the most exacting temperature control requirements, a separate heating tube is purposefully integrated (which also lengthens the compressor’s lifespan). The system employs a Pt100 sensor, providing: High thermal sensitivity, Exceptional resistance to interference, Extremely accurate control.
The instrument features a zonal structure, with refrigeration section on one side and control section on the other, making it very easy to use.
The cooling compartment of this device is a double-layered vacuum-insulated flask that meets the requirements of ASTM D1177, providing excellent thermal insulation effectiveness.
Stirring is accomplished in two ways with this instrument: motor driven stirring of the cooling bath liquid and mechanical stirring of the sample in the double-walled glass test tube.
The instrument is equipped with two working units, which means that two samples can be tested at the same time.
For better observation, the sample testing section is equipped with an illuminating light tube.
