1. HKL-1267 Apparatus for Vapor Pressure of Liquefied Petroleum Gases (LPG method) conforms to ASTM D1267 Standard Test Method. 2.The instrument covers the determination of the gage vapor pressures of liquefied petroleum gas products (Warning—Flammable gas. Harmful when inhaled.) at temperatures of 37.8°C (100°F) up to and including a test temperature of 70°C (158°F).

HKL-1267 Apparatus for Vapor Pressure of Liquefied Petroleum Gases

Overview

HKL-1267 Apparatus for Vapor Pressure of Liquefied Petroleum Gases (LPG method) conforms to ASTM D1267 Standard Test Method for Gage Vapor Pressure of Liquefied Petroleum (LP) Gases (LP-Gas Method). The instrument is purged with a portion of the sample, and then completely filled with the sample to be tested. A portion of the sample is immediately removed from the instrument to allow space for product expansion. After immersing the instrument in a water bath and allowing it to equilibrate, the observed gauge pressure is recorded and corrected for gauge pressure errors, and also corrected to standard atmospheric pressure. The last figure yielded is the vapor pressure of the liquefied petroleum gas at the specified test temperature.

Features

  1. The Fuji thermometer controller used in this instrument is designed by the Fujifilm Corporation, Japan. It has a user-friendly display and is easy to operate. It offers a temperature regulation precision of ±0.1°C and is also equipped with features such as over-temperature alarm and automatic PID parameter adjustment.

  2. The test bomb turns and swings automatically and completes one full turn in 20 seconds. Then at the very same speed, it goes back, repeating this cycle by itself.

  3. The instrument is horizontally designed and a precision digital pressure gauge is used to display the test pressure.

  4. Water bath tank as well as vapor pressure test bomb both of them are constructed from stainless steel which is a very rust resistant material.

  5. The water bath is heated electrically and equipped with a circulation motor, ensuring temperature fluctuations of less than 0.1°C at any point in the bath.

  6. The steam pressure testing appliance basically is two chambers made of circular stainless steel containers of same inner diameter, connected by a bayonet, which is a kind of very simple mechanical lock.

  7. The bath has a pair of test bombs installed to enable testing two samples simultaneously with one instrument.

  8. The test bomb is connected to the pressure sensor via quick-release couplings, ensuring fast and convenient operation with airtight sealing.

FAQ

  1. Q1: What standards does this product (HKL-1267 Apparatus for Vapor Pressure of Liquefied Petroleum Gases) comply with?

A: HKL-1267 Apparatus for Vapor Pressure of Liquefied Petroleum Gases (LPG method) conforms to ASTM D1267 Standard Test Method for Gage Vapor Pressure of Liquefied Petroleum (LP) Gases (LP-Gas Method). The final value obtained is the vapor pressure of the liquefied petroleum gas at the selected test temperature.

  2. Q2: Significance and use of HKL-1267 Apparatus for Vapor Pressure of Liquefied Petroleum Gases?

A: Information on the vapor pressures of liquefied petroleum gas products under temperature conditions from 37.8 to 70°C (100 to 158°F) is pertinent to selection of properly designed storage vessels, shipping containers, and customer utilization equipment to ensure safe handling of these products. Determination of the vapor pressure of liquefied petroleum gas is important for safety reasons to ensure that the maximum operating design pressures of storage, handling, and fuel systems will not be exceeded under normal operating temperature conditions. For liquefied petroleum gases, vapor pressure is an indirect measure of the most extreme low temperature conditions under which initial vaporization can be expected to occur. It can be considered a semi-quantitative measure of the amount of the most volatile material present in the product.
