Overview
HKL-19087 FTIR Spectrometer for Free Silica in air conforms to the ISO 19087 Workplace air — Analysis of respirable crystalline silica by Fourier-Transform Infrared spectroscopy. This document is a standard for using Fourier-Transform Infrared (FTIR) to analyze respirable crystalline silica (RCS) in air samples collected on collection substrates (e.g. filters or foams). Three methods of analysis are presented based on whether the dust from the sample collection substrate is 1) analyzed directly on the sampled filter, 2) recovered, treated and deposited onto another filter for analysis, or 3) recovered, treated and pressed into a potassium bromide (KBr) pellet for analysis.
Features
Highly stable optical system: The optical bench adopts monolithic mold forming integrated design and the main components are arranged just in one alignment process. So, the instrument stability gets greatly improved and the traditional optical structure maintenance problem disappears.
High-performance electronic system: The latest 24-bit A/D converter with a 500 kHz A/D conversion speed has been installed along with an imported highly sensitive infrared detector to provide real-time spectral data acquisition, thereby ensuring data authenticity and reliability. Besides, the latest USB 2.0 communication interface along with a high data transfer rate enables a sample test to be completed only in seconds.
The sealed design of the instrument’s interference chamber effectively isolates it from the outside environment. A built-in humidity sensor together with a colorimetric display presents the system status in an immediate and very clear way. The desiccant can be changed from the outside without opening the unit, which is a direct method of removing the main environmental hazard in performing FTIR spectroscopic analysis.
Integrated molding process for the corner mirrors: To achieve high luminous efficiency and reflectivity, the corner mirrors made of gold plating were single and monolithic units for both moving and fixed mirrors. Besides, the design without glue makes the system resistant to changes in temperature of the environment, which gives the instrument a higher level of inherent stability.
