Overview

This solution conforms to the ISO 17650 Low-alloyed steel—Determination of Mn, P, Cr, Ni, Mo, Co, Cu, V, Ti, As and Sn—Inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometric method. This standard specifies a method for the determination of Mn, P, Cr, Ni, Mo, Co, Cu, V, Ti, As and Sn contents in low alloyed steel by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry(ICP-OES).

HKL-17650 ICP for Determination of metallic element content in steel

Weigh approximately 0.2-0.5g sample, add a certain amount of nitric acid, heat at low temperature. After the solution becomes clear, cool to room temperature and transfer to a 100ml volumetric flask. Dilute to volume with water and mix well.

Blank and parallel sample tests are required for accurate determination of Si content.
