Overview

The HKL-562 Krebs Stormer Viscometer for Paints conforms to the ASTM D562 Standard Test Method for Consistency of Paints Measuring Krebs Unit (KU) Viscosity Using a Stormer-Type Viscometer. This test method covers the measurement of Krebs Unit (KU) viscosity to evaluate the consistency of paints and related coatings using the Stormer-type viscometer.

This testing method produces results that are quite useful for precisely measuring and controlling the paint uniformity, and the ones that are being sold either to consumers or businesses can also be included in this control.

Features

1. The simple user interface speeds up and enhances the comfort of the viscosity test even during test programming or data analysis phases.

2. Calibrating the method is computer-automated so to assure top accuracy in viscosity measurement, which results in precision and almost zero error.

3. The screen is full of details: apart from the three most commonly used parameters - KU, g, and cP, it also shows temperature, full-scale percentage (graphical display), viscosity curve, range overflow alarm, timing, clock date, etc.

4. Timed measurement is very practical and can be helpful a lot in practice. For instance, paints, inks, and coatings mainly fall under the category of non-Newtonian fluids. Besides temperature, one of the factors affecting their viscosities is the time duration of the measurement, as, to be exact, their viscosities lower when the time of shearing is increased. Hence, when one intends to compare the viscosity results of similar samples, the measurement time should be identical.

5. Self-built 30 sets of test procedures: programmable and fast recall.

6. The viscometer can store up to 30 sets of measurement data and curves, including details like sample name, KU value, g value, cP value, date of measurement, etc.

7. Viscosity curve graphs can be viewed instantly on the screen at any time.

8. It has two physical interfaces: a serial port for PC connection, and a parallel port for connection to a micro printer.

9. Front panel level adjustment: For getting precise values, it is essential that the rotor is placed vertically and aligned well in the sample. To check whether the device is level, the front panel is equipped with a leveling bubble. By changing the height of the three base feet, the bubble can be brought to the center.

10. There is a large selection of accessories available including a temperature probe, thermostat for the viscometer, constant temperature cup, printer, and standard viscosity samples among others.
