In the context of energy diversification and equipment optimization, the low-temperature fluidity of distillate fuels such as diesel and biodiesel has become a critical indicator affecting engine cold-start performance, fuel system reliability, and emission control. Especially in high-latitude, high-altitude, and severely cold regions, wax crystals precipitated from fuel at low temperatures can easily clog filters, leading to fuel supply interruptions, equipment downtime, and even serious malfunctions.
The Cold Filter Plugging Point (CFPP) is an important parameter for measuring the ability of distillate fuels to pass through a filter under low-temperature conditions, directly reflecting the actual usability of the fuel in its expected operating environment. Traditional manual testing methods are cumbersome, the results are greatly affected by human factors, and they cannot meet the needs of large-scale, high-frequency testing. With increasingly complex fuel components (such as biodiesel blends) and stricter environmental regulations, higher demands are placed on the accuracy, efficiency, and standardization of cold filter plugging point testing.
Therefore, a series of high-performance distillate fuel cold filter plugging point testers conforming to the ASTM D6371 standard have been officially launched. These instruments mainly have the following characteristics:
The instrument uses compressor refrigeration, eliminating the need for circulating cooling water, and uses fan air cooling, allowing for refrigeration simply by connecting to a power source.
The instrument uses an imported digital display temperature controller for temperature control. An auxiliary heating tube is specially designed to meet the requirements of temperature control accuracy (and also to extend the life of the compressor). The sensor uses a Pt100, which has high resolution, strong anti-interference, and high temperature control accuracy.
This instrument uses a copper tube to create a cold chamber with a large cooling capacity, allowing for simultaneous testing of two samples and continuous testing.
The instrument’s refrigeration system uses advanced patented technology, and a single compressor can easily reduce the cold chamber temperature to below -40℃. The compressor is also small, lightweight, stable in operation, and vibration-free.
Equipped with a filtration device.
In the era of energy transition and high-quality development, cold filter plugging point testers have evolved from precision instruments in the laboratory to critical infrastructure for ensuring energy security and promoting technological innovation. It not only acts as the arbiter of fuel quality but also serves as the guardian of optimized fuel efficiency and engine health, providing solid and reliable technical support for quality control across the entire fuel supply chain, continuously helping the industry move towards a more efficient, environmentally friendly, and reliable future.
