HKL-6304 Moisture Content Tester
Overview
HKL-6304 Moisture Content Tester conforms to the ASTM D6304 Standard Test Method for Determination of Water in Petroleum Products, Lubricating Oils, and Additives by Coulometric Karl Fischer Titration. This method uses Karl Fischer titration to determine the amount of water in a sample. A coulometric apparatus is used to generate iodine for the Karl Fischer reaction at the anode. When all the water has been titration, excess iodine is detected by an electrometric end point detector and the titration is terminated. Based on the stoichiometry of the reaction, 1 mole of iodine reacts with 1 mole of water; thus, the quantity of water is proportional to the total integrated current according to Faraday’s Law.

FAQ
Q1: What standards does this product (HKL-6304 Moisture Content Tester) comply with?
A: HKL-6304 Moisture Content Tester conforms to the ASTM D6304 Standard Test Method for Determination of Water in Petroleum Products, Lubricating Oils, and Additives by Coulometric Karl Fischer Titration. This test method covers the direct determination of entrained water in petroleum products and hydrocarbons using automated instrumentation. This test method also covers the indirect analysis of water thermally removed from samples and swept with dry inert gas into the Karl Fischer titration cell. Mercaptan, sulfide, sulfur, and other compounds are known to interfere with this test method. This test method is intended for use with commercially available coulometric Karl Fischer reagents and for the determination of water in additives, lube oils, base oils, automatic transmission fluids, hydrocarbon solvents, and other petroleum products. By proper choice of the sample size, this test method may be used for the determination of water from mg/kg to percent level concentrations.
Q2: The working principle of HKL-6304 Moisture Content Tester?
A: This method uses Karl Fischer titration to determine the amount of water in a sample.
Q3: The significance and use of HKL-6304 Moisture Content Tester?
A: A knowledge of the water content is important in the manufacturing, purchase, sale, or transfer of petroleum products to help in predicting their quality and performance characteristics. The presence of moisture could lead to premature corrosion and wear, an increase in the debris load resulting in diminished lubrication and premature plugging of filters, an impedance in the effect of additives, and undesirable support of deleterious bacterial growth.
Q4: Do you provide product operation manuals or technical documentation?
A: Yes, we offer electronic versions of product manuals, quick operation guides, application cases, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). These can be accessed by logging into the download center on our official website or by contacting customer service to request them.
Q5: How do I track my order?
A: Once the goods are shipped, we will provide a waybill number/bill of lading number and a tracking link. You can track your goods in real time through the official website of the courier or logistics company, or you can contact our customer service.
