Overview

The apparatus conforms to ASTM D2272 Standard Test Method for Oxidation Stability of Steam Turbine Oils by Rotating Pressure Vessel. It determines oxidation stability of new and in-service turbine oils and other industrial oils; it utilizes an oxygen-pressured vessel to evaluate the oxidation stability of new and in-service turbine oils having the same composition (base stock and additives) in the presence of water and a copper catalyst coil at 150°C.

  1. Being equipped with a control system on an industrial computer basis, this tool combines functions of analysis, result processing, and printing into a single one for operation that is friendly to the user.

  2. This instrument is equipped with a double stainless steel heating element for the oil bath, along with a motor-operated stirring, guaranteeing fast heating and even temperature distribution.

  3. The instrument has a built-in automatically safety protection system which turns off the power if the temperature of the oil bath goes beyond 150℃.

  4. The rotating motor above the oil bath gives power to two oxygen bombs with chain transmission. This design guarantees that no leak will occur even after a long time of use.

  5. The oil bath temperature is regulated by a computer and can be set to any temperature between room temperature and 150℃ with a precision of ±0.1℃.

  6. The oxygen bombs are set at a 30° angle from the water surface. One motor controls both bombs through sector gears, allowing them to rotate on their axis at 100 rpm for complete immersion and consistent heating in the oil bath.

  7. The oxygen bomb pressure equipment takes advantage of imported quick-connect couplings allowing tool-free plug-and-play operation, greatly simplifying the process.

  8. Each oxygen bomb incorporated in this instrument is carefully crafted from top-grade stainless steel through precision machining. They have a threaded sealing mechanism, and each bomb includes a separate mounting base along with a stainless steel torque wrench that is specially made for tight fastening, etc. Therefore, they are perfect for laboratory technicians’ handling.

  9. The instrument is fitted with a double oxygen bomb cupboard, so it can switch on two bombs at one time for twin testing or one by one.

  10. This instrument is specially fitted with a coil winding machine (gas charging system) that allows the users to prepare copper catalyst coils up to the standard level for testing and to perform the gas (oxygen) charging and discharging operations. This makes the entire operation of preparing copper catalyst coils and handling oxygen charging/discharging much easier for the personnel.

  11. The instrument features an exhaust fan and separate ventilation ducts to ensure ideal testing environment.
