HKL-1478 Low-Temperature Torque Tester

Overview

HKL-1478 Low-Temperature Torque Tester conforms to ASTM D1478 Standard Test Method for Low-Temperature Torque of Ball Bearing Grease. A ball bearing is packed completely full of the test grease and cleaned off flush with the sides. The bearing remains stationary while ambient temperature is lowered to the test temperature and held there for 2 h. At the end of this time, the inner ring of the ball bearing is rotated at 1 ± 0.05 r/min while the restraining force on the outer ring is measured. Torque is determined by multiplying the restraining force by the radius of the bearing housing. Both starting torque and torque after 60 min of rotation (running torque) are determined.

Features

  1. This instrument adopts dual-compressor refrigeration, eliminating the need for circulating cooling water. It is using heat dissipation with a condenser which allows the cooling to start right after connecting the power.

  2. The use of a Japanese Fuji digital temperature controller enables it to make very accurate adjustments. Besides, the Probes Pt100 temperature sensor is characterized by ultra sensitivity, ultra resolution, strongest anti-interference capacity, accurate control, and long working life.

  3. The cryogenic chamber is equipped with top-notch sealing to keep the internal temperatures unchanged and stable during the tests. It doesn’t form any frost during the whole operation, either.

  4. An internal fan will stop to assure the safety of the operator if, during the testing, the door safety switch that has been installed is opened.

  5. Test results are displayed digitally in m n/m (millinewton meters).
