Overview

HKL-1881 Apparatus for Foaming Tendency of Engine Coolants conforms to ASTM D1881 Standard Test Method for Foaming Tendencies of Engine Coolants in Glassware. A solution of coolant and ASTM type Ⅱ water is blown with air at a constant rate for 5 min, while maintained at a constant temperature of 88 ± 1°C(190 ± 2℉) by means of a suitable temperature bath. The volume of foam, and the time for such foam to break, are measured.

Features

  1. This instrument adopts a left-right structure design with a large-capacity cylindrical glass bath, reducing temperature deviation inside the bath. It features rapid heating, high heat, and excellent temperature stability.

  2. This instrument comes with an air filter and flow meter, and it has a compact design that makes it very easy to operate and observe.

  3. With this device, one can set the temperature point anywhere from 0-88℃ and the instrument will control it automatically.

  4. The temperature control system of this instrument uses a digital display temperature controller which has fast response to sensors, high resolution, etc. It is also strong anti-interference and high precision controller of temperature.

  5. The instrument’s constant temperature bath features three measuring cylinders so it is possible to test 3 samples at the same time or carry out parallel tests.

  6. The instrument consists of a main pneumatic control valve and three independent flow meters, which allow adjustment of the air flow very accurately.

  7. The flow meters in the instrument make it possible to accurately control the flow of air, and the user can set the flow rate of the gas to whatever is desired. PT100 temperature sensors are used for temperature measurement. These sensors are very sensitive and can measure a wide range of temperatures.
