Overview
HKL-2809 Apparatus for Cavitation Corrosion and Erosion-Corrosion Characteristics conforms to the ASTM D2809 Standard Test Method for Cavitation Corrosion and Erosion-Corrosion Characteristics of Aluminum Pumps with Engine Coolants. This test method consists of pumping an aqueous coolant solution at 113℃(235℉)through a pressurized 103 kPa (15 psig) simulated automotive coolant system (Tests run at other than 113 ℃ (235℉) might show more or less cavitation depending upon the coolant formulation). An aluminum automotive water pump, driven at 4600r/min by an electric motor, is used to pump the solution and to serve as the object specimen in evaluating the cavitation erosion- corrosion effect of the coolant under test. The pump is examined to determine the extent of cavitation erosion- corrosion damage and is rated according to the system given.
Features
The system driving this instrument uses a 3-phase induction motor equipped with a high-power variable-frequency drive. The speed can be changed continuously and smoothly over the range of 0 to 6,400 rpm without any fluctuations in operation.
This device has a Dual-Zone Temperature Control system that separately manages the temperature in cleaning and sample preparation for more convenient operation and better control accuracy.
The device incorporates a Fusi digital temperature controller from Japan, which is imported and helps to improve the accuracy and efficiency of temperature-controlled experimental processing. The temperature reading is easy to understand and the temperature control is extremely accurate up to ±0.1°C.
The heater of this device is installed on the tank holding the liquid. It has a stainless steel U-type heating element which distributes the heat evenly, is safer, and can be replaced easily.
The liquid storage tank is fitted with a safety plug which opens automatically to release the pressure from the system if the pressure exceeds 0.5 Mpa.
The pressure regulating valve is entirely constructed from stainless steel ball valve. It is handy for adjusting and overhauling is quite simple.
