Overview
The HKL-FTIR Spectrometer is a tool to measure the additive levels in rolling oils used for making aluminum sheets, strips, and foils. The approach is based on the fact that different additive ingredients show their own peaks in the infrared spectrum—at different wavenumbers (for example, alcohols have a characteristic peak at 1052 cm⁻¹ while acids and esters have peaks at 1709 cm⁻¹ and 1743 cm⁻¹, respectively). Therefore, reference standards are made by mixing the additives with the base oil (a kerosene-based lubricant with a C12–C16 carbon chain) in certain proportions to prepare standard solutions. According to the Beer-Lambert Law, the solute concentration and its absorbance are linearly related as the concentration increases. The concentration of every single component in the sample can be determined with great accuracy by plugging in the absorbance values corresponding to the characteristic absorption peaks of the sample under analysis into this linear equation.
This device allows for a rapid and highly accurate determination of the amount of additives in rolling oils, at the same time, it totally avoids the disadvantages of traditional chemical analysis methods—major sources of errors, complex operations, and high costs (mainly from large reagent consumptions) of these methods.

Extremely stable optical system: The combined optical stage, formed a single piece, enables initial placement of the central parts only once, thereby no adjustments are necessary and instrument stability is greatly enhanced. This completely addresses the issues that are typically introduced with the problems of maintaining traditional optical structures.
High-Fidelity Signal Acquisition: A 500 kHz 24-bit ADC together with a high-grade imported IR detector are combined by the system to allow live capture of spectral data with excellent accuracy and consistency. Along with a specific high-speed USB 2.0 interface, it facilitates fast data transmission and delivers comprehensive spectral results within seconds.
Intelligent Humidity Control: The device incorporates a hermetically sealed interferometer with real-time humidity monitoring and a simple color-change desiccant indicator. Such a smart design can prevent moisture induced signal drift or damage in advance. The indicator gives a clear visual warning when the desiccant is exhausted and quick replacement can be achieved without opening the main housing so that the operation can be continued without interruption.
Integrated corner mirror design incorporates a unique, one-piece design of gold-plated retroreflectors for both the moving and stationary mirrors. Such an entirely metallic, glue-free production enhances the efficiency of both light reflection and transmission, while at the same time it is a good measure against thermal drift and ensuring a stable instrument performance by nature.
Core components are generally imported from European and American developed countries: all the essential parts, such as the light source, detector, beam splitter, and die, are initially imported, ensuring excellent quality.
