The HKL1884 Gas Chromatograph conforms to the ASTM F1884 Standard Test Method for Determining Residual Solvents in Packaging Materials. Retained volatile organic solvent extraction is done by exposing the packaging material to raising temperatures in a headspace sampling system. Subsequently, the headspace gas is analyzed by gas chromatography and detected by a suitable detection device e.g. flame ionization detector (FID).
